Obesity is a huge "epidemic" that makes people really huge. People who weigh at least 300 pounds are obese. People who are overweight are at risk at being obese. Obesity is caused by food addiction, people being addicted to that food and can't stop eating that food until they get enough. Another cause of obesity is not doing exercises. Doing exercises was an important task to keep a person fit and slender. It could prevent the creation of plaques in the bloodstream and cardiac arrests. Being obese is a big problem. The person who is obese will get diseases caused by obesity such as diabeetus, heart attacks, etc. People world wide are obese. It is because they eat too much junk food such as McDonald's, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Burger King, Five Guys, Pizza Hut, Papa John's, Lay's potato chips, Taco Bell, In & Out, etc or they are inactive/not doing exercises. The government might tax on very unhealthy foods that will have people eat unhealthy foods less often. But, if people eat that food less often, then companies that make that food will gain less profit.
To get fit, people must not get lazy, get their bottoms off the sofa, and work out. That is why there is like "gym" informercials/commercials that encourage people to do exercises or informercials about a weight burning product such as the NutriBullet brands where people can make healthy food from it. They will make, it, consume it, and most importantly work it out to take effect. Also, there are drinks/bars that are supposed to make people healthy. They do taste horrible however. People can also drink water. A lot of water because water has no calories and those harmful stuff unless it is polluted/contaminated. Milk is also a healthy drink because of its good source of calcium. However, it was indigestable and causes intestinal problems. Such cookware such as the NuWave may make people lose weight by eating their cooked goods cooked from it. The NuWave oven can make the food secret its fat/oil away from the food. Therefore, people consume less fats/oils/grease from their NuWaved food. The informercial supposedly make the NuWave oven to turn food into great tasting food, meaning there will be more juice in the meats and something like that. Being obese is very heavy, to our lives. It makes us look pretty bad and being obese is like being in a lump of lard. So that's why we need to work out and burn of all the calories from our body. Some video games such as Wii Fit are fit to have people who feel they are unfit. It would test the person's physical performance such as balancing. People who do not have a balanced diet will be a lump of lard, which is being overweight. They should eat less greasy/fatty foods but they are too addicted to the taste, leaving them being gluttons to eat this certain kind of food. Especially sugary foods/drinks, people will have a risk of getting diabeetus. Programs such as Liberty Medical combat the risk of getting diabeetus. Other commercials that we see on television also combat the risk of obesity with exercising equipment or eating the "right stuff". One shocking thing that obesity does is affect kids. One such example is the example of Lu Hao, a Chinese 3 year old who weighs 118 pounds (53 kilograms). His parents try to make him slim but it never works. Lu Hao hates doing exercises and when he doesn't get to eat, he cries. He gets hungrier every time he does exercises and gets tired when he does a few steps. His parents had a hard time to pick him up. He eats a lot and demands an extra serving. Parents would have to feed him three bowls of rice to satisfy him.
Apart from obese people told to eat healthy foods, there are like exotic exercise gadgets, weight loss programs, medicine that make people lose weight (kind of/barely) etc. But if someone eats healthy food and not to much, they still need to do exercises. Doing exercises take some energy, but it can burn the fat and calories. People must do exercises for a good body and more energy. Being fit will not make him/her feel sleepy because of all the energy being used for the body. People today needs to be more active, even me. So, I must get off my couch (not being a couch potato) and start working out. People need to do exercise not because they look bad or have bad health, but because they are being made fun of. For some instance, there is like Lu Hao, the relatively obese Chinese toddler has his pictures being turned into memes. Another example is Gabriel Newell, a managing director of the valve software.
During his commentary of the training session of Team Fortress 2, he will say "After years of development, it will be worth the wait." People will think that line as "worth the weight" because they mock his weight and large physique (and also, weight and wait sound the same, meaning they are homonyms). I must tell you the effects of the dreadful diseases from obesity. First, the plaques in the blood vessels. These plaques are almost like the plaques on the teeth, except when it's in the internal body and in the blood vessels. Know what it does? It acts like a wall to keep some of the blood and blood cells from getting to the heart. If its "hole" gets smaller, then less blood vessels will get to the heart, and so on and so forth. As a result, the affected person will have a heart attack because not enough blood could get to the heart to exchange oxygen. Then the person will get very little oxygen and energy, so he can't breathe. His organs may fail too because they too need oxygen. Therefore, every living thing needs oxygen. It will also causes blood rupture, which causes stroke. Another effect is diabeetus. Diabeetus is caused by extremely high/low blood sugar and also obesity. It's symptoms were reduced insulin production, constant visits to the bathroom, dry mouth, increased thirst, fatigue, increased hunger, and weight loss. A way to combat this is probably by increasing glucose production. Being obese is not a good thing to people and also not good to their organs, such as the liver. As people get obese, fatty deposits will form on the liver like a parasite. This will cause the liver to scar until it can't scar no more. This is called Liver Fibrosis. Then, after the whole liver gets scarred, scar tissue will replace the liver cells. Now the liver is "dead." Another symptom of obesity is Anorexia Nervosa. It makes people refusing to eat. When they don't eat, they get hungry. When they get hungry, their body will start becoming hideous. What it looks like is people having their bones showing and looking very thin. It makes people almost looks like a skeleton. Sometimes, people can't stop eating and can't control how they eat. This is called binge eating disorder. They can be so addicted to their favorite food because not only it tastes good but because of the ingredients that they put in (MSG?). For one example, there is Michael Rosen who is once a child and loves the chocolate cake that his mom makes. "Oh! I love chocolate cake!" said Rosen. Michael Rosen is able to bring a slice of chocolate to his school cafeteria during lunch. He eats it and goes "Mmmmmmm!", indicating that the chocolate cake is wonderful! In nap time, Michael Rosen is thinking about... you guessed it! Chocolate cake! Then he goes down stairs very very quietly to get the chocolate cake. He opens the fridge and sees the chocolate. His mouth waters and he wipes it off with his hand. Then, he takes out a kitchen knife and scoops the small crumbs off the cake and eats it. Yum! Then, he saw blobs of it so he can clean it with his finger, and he put in his mouth to eat the sugary blob. (*Smack!* Nice!) Next, he takes out a slice of chocolate cake and he eats it really hard and fast. Then he goes "Mmmmmmmmmm!!!!" Then he eats all these slices like a greedy pig! "Oh no!" Mr. Rosen said. "The chocolate is gone!" He is pretty worried that his parents will find out and if they found out that Michael Rosen ate all of the chocolate cake, they will punish him. Then, he has an idea. He turns on the sink (on low velocity), washes the cake plate and the dining utensils. He then dries the plate clean enough and puts it back into the fridge. He walks back upstairs and sleeps, completely satisfied. The next day, Michael Rosen is eating breakfast. His mother is busy here and busy there. Then his mother thoughts about something wonderful, about the chocolate cake! That wouldn't end well, so what does Michael Rosen say? He goes okay and his mother would say that she thinks that he thought the idea of chocolate cake. Then, she looks into the fridge and checks to see if the chocolate cake was there or not. "It's gone! The chocolate cake is gone!" Then she would say if Rosen have eaten all the cake. Then, she notices something. She notices a chocolate smear on Michael Rosen's face. Michael Rosen is in really big trouble. Then his mother tells Michael to go upstairs and wash that smear off. The end. The lesson? Don't get too greedy even though it is its favorite. A new cause of obesity is something scary that is living inside our digestive systems. It is microscopic and it is a fungus. It is called Candida. Candida is some yeast that makes up the 80% good bacteria and the 20% bad (which is Candida). It uses out bodies as its "buffet" as we eat food.
